Where we sail

Lake Deschênes

Lake Deschênes

Having its headquarters in Gatineau, the Centre moors its boats at the Aylmer Marina, which is managed by the Grande-Rivière Sailing Club (Club de Voile Grande‑Rivière [CVGR]). The Centre is a member of the CVGR.

Lake Deschênes is located on the border of Quebec and Ontario and is sought after by sailors because of its excellent winds and its high‑quality waters. It is a 40-km stretch of the Ottawa River, from the Deschênes Rapids to Quyon.

There are impressive landscapes and interesting anchorages perfect for a short break or overnight mooring.

This stretch of water lends itself well to a sailing-cruise vacation and presents challenges for coastal sailing. The beauty of its landscapes and its islands make it the ideal place to push your learning whether you are a novice or an experienced navigator.
